Gravel Road, based in the southeast, is made up of three multi-talented musicians whose different backgrounds bring together a unique and exciting mix of music that includes bluegrass, country, and popular favorites. In addition to performing live shows each year, they have also appeared on "Lowcountry Live" and "Song of the Mountains," filmed in Marion, Virginia. The group's unique arrangements of tunes along with their vocal harmony precision make them stand out from the average bluegrass band.
Meg High, vocals, has been singing since before she could walk. Influenced by her grandmother's love of old country, Meg grew up immersed in the folk/country traditions. Having lived and worked in New York City, she is also well-versed in the musical theatre world and has appeared on MTV’s “Legally Blond” reality series. Derek Deakins is a bluegrass and country music musician since birth, and has landed jobs performing with James Monroe, The Osborne Brothers, and country music superstar Blake Shelton while living in Nashville, TN. You can also find him playing banjo and guitar at various locations throughout Disney World. Lisa Deakins, powerhouse fiddler, plays a wide variety of styles and brings a dynamic energy to the group. Before creating Gravel Road, she sang with country music superstar Pam Tillis and Grand Ole Opry star Whisperin’ Bill Anderson. Combined, the three musicians delight audiences with song choices ranging from Johnny Cash, John Denver, and Charlie Daniels all the way to The Jackson 5, Avett Brothers, and Taylor Swift.
